Tradition is handed down in how we spend time with our loved ones, how we rejoice together and how we share a meal. Teresa is turning 68, her hearing has diminished over the past year, and her mind is rooted in memories of the past. She stands by a phone that will not ring anymore. Her daughter Miriam visits, and realizes the additional care her mother now needs. Teresa subconsciously prefers to not notice her daughter's help, struggle and get lost in once's memories. She is obsessed with trying to remember her mother's recipe for soup, which she cannot remember. Teresa does not acknowledge her daughter's help. She struggles and gets lost in her memories. She is obsessed with trying to remember her mother's soup recipe. She can't. When Teresa finally doesn't even recognize her daughter, Miriam continues to be the one to stay with her. Teresa is stoic as she prepares a beloved family meal. Lost in a memory of love and longing for an escape to a happy reality.
